St.Mary's Pro-Cathedral
Saint Mary's Pro-Cathedral is located on Marlborough Street, one block East of O'Connell Street, Dublin's main thoroughfare. The Pro-Cathedral is a place of prayer, an oasis in the middle of a busy city where so many call each day to light a candle, to pause and pray, to meditate, to worship at the liturgy.

The Pro-Cathedral serves not only those who live in the parish, but also the staff members of business houses, thousands of office workers and public servants who work in the centre-city by day The Priests and staff of the Pro-Cathedral are at your service.

Saint Mary's Pro-Cathedral serves as the Cathedral Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin. St. Mary's is one of the four Mensal Parishes of the Diocese. Archbishop Diarmuid Martin is the Parish Priest, and he and his auxiliary bishops preside at liturgies in the Pro-Cathedral on a regular basis. The Diocesan Chapter meet on designated Chapter days throughout the year.

The Pro-Cathedral Parish was constituted in 1825 from St. Mary's Chapel, Liffey Street

Music is an important element of life at the Pro-Cathedral. The Palestrina Choir, under the direction of Blánaid Murphy, sing at the Latin Mass each Sunday at 11.00 a.m. During the summer holidays visiting choirs and soloists take their place. The Saturday Vigil Mass at 6.p.m is also well attended and is served by Cantors and visiting Choirs throughout the year
