The Rubicon Gallery
Rubicon was initiated in 1990 by Josephine Kelliher & Peter McKenna. Josephine went on to commission the exhibition space at 10 Saint Stephens Green in 1995, in the most significant and central location in Dublin City. Rubicon Gallery's core objective is to enable artists to realise and optimise important projects. The curatorial focus is contemporary painting but the Gallery works with international artists in all media.
Rubicon Gallery presents thirteen exhibitions, solo-projects in the main with some curated events, and produces 6-8 artist's publications annually. Further projects are realised with Museums, Art Centres and Private Galleries nationally and internationally. In recent years the Gallery participated in International Art Fairs in London (Jan), Brussels (May), Toronto and Turin (Oct).
A continuous dialogue with curators of Museum Collections is firmly established. Rubicon Gallery also operates as an Art Advisor and liaises with corporate and private buyers and consultants internationally; initiating or expanding contemporary art collections and facilitating special commissions of new work.
Rubicon Gallery is on the First Floor of a red-brick Georgian Building overlooking St. Stephens Green in Dublin City Centre, Ireland.
The art gallery is located on the North side of the St. Stephens Green, between the main shopping streets of Grafton Street and Dawson Street. Turn left at the top of Grafton Street (by the Shopping Centre) and just after Habitat, the Gallery is in a recessed building between The St. Stephens Green Club and the Allied Irish Bank building.
